Mimex Bio harnesses the unique biology of exercise to develop novel nutritional ingredients for health and performance.
Each time you exercise, your muscles and other organs release hundreds of small molecules into the bloodstream.
These ‘bioactive’ molecules travel through the blood and act directly on cells to change their biology, including in muscles, the gut, heart and brain.
It is partly through the release of these molecules that exercise improves health and prevents disease.
At Mimex Bio, we design novel nutritional ingredients to mimic or augment the biological effects of exercise.
OUR LEAD ASSET
Lactate is the muscle’s preferred fuel source and a potent signalling molecule.
We developed a proprietary lactate-containing molecule, MO_0208, designed to deliver lactate-derived energy into the working muscle.
Carbohydrate has a limit.
The gut can only absorb so much carbohydrate during exercise. Beyond that point, fuelling stops improving performance.
Lactate is a premium fuel.
Once dismissed as a waste product, lactate is now understood to be continuously produced in muscle at rest and during exercise and a preferred fuel for working muscle.
