Dr Sam Orange

Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer

Sam is an internationally-recognised translational scientist with 15 years’ experience leading clinical and preclinical research programmes across academia, biotech and healthcare. His research spans exercise metabolism, metabolic health and oncology, where it has shaped clinical practice and guidelines, and he has taken a novel nutritional ingredient from concept to patent pending. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and holds a Visiting Associate Professor position at Newcastle University and Research Fellow position at York St John University.

Gabriel is an entrepreneur and corporate leader who has founded, scaled and exited several companies with large value acquisitions. He founded his first company, Alerian, at 25 and built SteelPath Funds into a business he successfully exited, after beginning his career at Goldman Sachs. Educated at Johns Hopkins and Harvard, he brings commercial strategy and company-building experience to Mimex Bio as Co-Founder and Director.

Tom is a leading physiologist specialising in muscle and bone health. A former Associate Professor, Tom has led studies with Olympians, elite athletes, astronauts, and people with long-term health conditions. Now Director of Exercise Science at Emles, he advises early-stage companies and government bodies across the healthcare, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries.

Scientific Advisor

Thomas is an international biotech executive and drug development expert. He has developed a broad range of medicines from small molecules to cell therapies, taking assets from discovery to market approval. As CEO at the Organoid Company and Valley Biosciences, Thomas has challenged biotech conventions by doing a lot with less capital with the goal of making self-sustaining biotech ventures.
